More Information

Join the BTS!

You can join the BTS on line or by downloading and completing an application form.

To join on line, you will first need to register your details on the web site. Register now and receive a free on-line copy of our monthly journal "Trolleybus"!

After you have registered you will be able to log in and download your free magazine. If you decide you would like to join, you will be able to log in and select your membership options. You can pay your subscription by PayPal, by making a direct bank transfer, or by sending a cheque to the membership secretary, whose address will be sent to you with your acknowledgement.

Benefits of Membership

For your monthly membership you receive a monthly magazine called, unsurprisingly, Trolleybus. You will find articles on systems that used to operate in the U.K. or on modern trolleybuses operating around the world, international news updates and all the gossip in the museum and preservation world, not to mention interesting photographs. You will also be able to see the magazine via the Members' Area of the website as soon as it is published. Members who have registered their email address on this website will also receive the BTS News & Events newsletter by email every month.

You can join as an On Line Member at a reduced rate, which gives you access to the magazine from your member pages. With on line membership you will not receive the magazine through the post.

Monthly meetings are held in Reading, London and Bradford where film shows or histories on past and present day systems are enjoyed. We have 13 trolleybuses in our preserved fleet and you can read all about these on our BTS Fleet Page.

Donation to BTS Funds

Many members kindly make a donation when renewing their subscriptions. Donations made at the same time as membership payments in 2022/2023 will go towards the restoration of Mexborough & Swinton 34, the Society's 1927 Garrett trolleybus which will be our most ambitious restoration project. If you are making a donation and wish your contribution to be used for a different purpose, please make that known on your renewal form or by email if renewing online.

How You can Help

We rely on the support of our members to achieve our aims. Please get in touch if you can help in any of the following ways.

  • Write an article or send in news items for the society's journals.
  • Offer practical skills to assist in the maintenance & restoration of vehicles; training is available for skilled & technical work.
  • Help run the Sales Stand at Rallies.
  • Take leaflets and give them to people who share your interest in Trolleybuses & might become members.
  • Participate in our monthly prize draw.
  • Sponsor the Trolleybus of your choice with a regular monthly donation.

We are always very grateful for offers of help. If there are any ways you can help that are not listed here we will be very happy to hear from you!
